| WAS LOT THE NEPHEW, OR BROTHER, OF ABRAHAM? |
| Genesis 14:12 And they took Lot,
Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
(KJV)
Genesis 14:16 And he (Abram) brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. (KJV)

| The word used for 'brother' in both passages is the Hebrew word 'ach', which, according to Strong's Concordance, can mean literal brother or kindred. So Lot was both Abraham's nephew and also a metaphorical brother to him. Not a contradiction. |
