WILL BABYLON BE DESTROYED FOREVER?

Jeremiah 51:64  And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah. (KJV) I Peter 5:13  The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. (KJV)

Jeremiah did not clarify when Babylon would be destroyed.  The fact that it had not happened yet in Paul's day doesn't mean it was a false prophecy.  Not a contradiction.
