| WILL THERE BE A RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD? |
| I Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at
the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (KJV)
Job 7:9 As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. (KJV) Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. (KJV) Isaiah 26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish. (KJV)

| There will be a resurrection of the dead, but only for some people. In the Job passage, Job is struggling with his faith, and questioning whether or not God will offer him an eternal reward. At this point, he's partly convinced that God has forsaken him. The Ecclesiastes passage is speaking of the current situation of those who are dead. They will not ascend to Heaven and receive their reward until the resurrection happens. The Isaiah passage is speaking of the Israelites' enemies, who will not be resurrected at the last day. Not a contradiction. |
