ARE ANY ANIMALS UNCLEAN?

Leviticus 11:4  "'There are some that only chew the cud or only have a split hoof, but you must not eat them. The camel, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is ceremonially unclean for you. (NIV) Acts 11:9 "The voice spoke from heaven a second time, 'Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.'" (NIV)

Note: Of the four versions I have, this 'contradiction' appears only in the NIV The critic here is misunderstanding the phrase 'made clean'.  It does not mean 'created clean', but 'cleansed'.  The Greek word in Acts 11 is 'Katharizo' which means to cleanse, purse, or purify.  Therefore, these animals were unclean (during the time of Leviticus), but were made clean at some point after that. Not a contradiction.
