ARE SOME FLYING INSECTS OKAY TO EAT?
Leviticus 11:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; (KJV)

Deuteronomy 14:19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. (KJV)

Leviticus seems to be talking specifically about those which 'fly' through leaping, such as grasshoppers. Grasshoppers do not really fly the same way that bees and flies do, but seem to be the kind of creature which is being talked about here.  Not a contradiction.
