WOULD DAVID'S THRONE ENDURE FOREVER?
Psalms 89:35-36  Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.  His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me. (KJV)

Psalms 89:44  Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground. (KJV)

Considering the fact that these two passages are from the same psalm, the idea of a true contradiction here is rather ridiculous.  Also, this is poetry and not meant to be taken literal.  But what is being said in verses 35-36 is that David's kingdom would endure forever (which it does through Jesus), and verse 44 is talking about David himself, whose rule (as an individual) was cast down.  Not a contradiction.
