DOES THE CONSCIENCE, OR JESUS' ANOINTING, TEACH US RIGHT FROM WRONG?

Romans 2:15  Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) (KJV) I John 2:27  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (KJV)

Jesus' anointing teaches us right from wrong, but the conscience also bears witness to it.  Apparently, the critic missed the word 'also' in the Romans passage.  Not a contradiction.
