WHEN DAVID WENT TO NOB, WHO WAS THE HIGH PRIEST?  AHIMELECH OR ABIATHAR?
I Samuel 21:1  Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? (KJV)

Mark 2:26  How he (David) went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? (KJV)

Abiathar was the son of Ahimelech, and Abiathar was alive when David went to Nob, though Abiathar was not the high priest.  In Mark 2, Jesus was saying that David went to Nod 'during the day of Abiathar the high priest', in other words, when Abiathar was alive, but not necessarily when he was the high priest.  It would like someone today saying, "When President Bush was a little boy...", it does not mean that Bush was President when he was a little boy.  Not a contradiction.
