WHICH PROPHET FORESAW THE BETRAYAL BY JUDAS?
Matthew 27:9  Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; and they gave them for the potter's field, as the LORD appointed me. (KJV)

Zechariah 11:12-13 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.  And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

Note: The assumption of contradiction is that Matthew credits this prophecy to Jeremiah, while it was in the book of Zechariah, not Jeremiah.

The English translation is "spoken" by Jeremiah, not "written", which would mean that Matthew is referring to something generally known to have originated with Jeremiah, such as the purchase of the field, which is mentioned in Jeremiah 32.  But going back to the original Greek for this passage, the word which was translated as "spoken" is "rheo", which means "flowed from" (such as in John 7:38: "He who believes in Me (Jesus), as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."), which again supports the idea that is referring, not to a written prophecy, but to an action.  In fact, the word 'rheo' is never translated as "written", and never translated as "spoken" except when referring to prophecy.

Zachariah is speaking of what Jeremiah performed, the buying of the field from Hanameel (Jeremiah 32).  Speaking a vow and performing a vow are not the same thing (as evidenced in Jeremiah 44:25, which says, in part, "`Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying: "You and your wives have spoken (your vows) with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands."

Not a contradiction.
