out demons, raised the dead, been put on trial, and dispensed wisdom.
However, the earliest stories of Apollonius were written no earlier
than 180 A.D. The author of the most well-known 'biography' of Apollonius,
Philostratus, was born in 172 A.D. and write his text in the 3rd
century. Of course, the critics always omit this fact when spouting
their list of comparisons. The 'striking parallels' are the results
of the Jesus story influencing the Apollonius story.
