| Arent there some striking parallels between the Jesus and Hyacinthus stories? |
| No. Hyancinthus was a Greek vegetation deity who was
Apollo's homosexual lover. He was also
loved by Zephyrus, the Greek God of the west wind, but didn't love Zephyrus
back. Zephyrus, out of jealousy, created a wind which caused a discus
thrown by Apollo to strike and kill Hyacinthus, and from Hyacinthus' blood
grew the first hyacinth flower. Nope, not much of a parallel to the
Jesus story.
