| Arent there some striking parallels between the Jesus and Lao-Kiun stories? |
| The only hits I'm getting on Lao-Kiun (aka Lao-Tse) is a guy who was
a Chinese philosopher and teacher (and rival of Confucius) born in 604 B.C.,
and, yes, the critics do seem to be talking about this guy. One site
claims he was supposedly born of a virgin, but didn't give any sources to
back it up. But since the site is unbiased (that is, not specifically
trying to make parallels to Jesus) this one may be true. If anyone
has any more specific evidence of this claim being attributed to him, please
let me know.
However, since this guy is not a deity and was almost certainly unheard of by the Israelites, it's exceedingly unlikely he influenced the Jesus story in any way. |
