Aren’t there some striking parallels between the Jesus and Salivahana stories?
No.  Skeptic Acharya S. references Kersey Graves who references F. Wilford's book "Origin and Decline of the Christian Religion in India".  The problem is that Graves clearly lies about Wilford's claim.  Wilford dated the Salivahana story to 676 A.D., yet Graves falsely claims that Wilford dated it to pre-Christian times.  According to Wilford, Salivahana's mother was impregnated by having a snake glide over her when she was a year old.  Critics claim that Salivahana was a carpenter, but the closest anyone has found is a reference to his being a 'wood-carrier' in a past life.  He was, apparently, the son of a carpenter, and he had a king try to kill him when he was a youngster (five years old).  Some interesting parallels, but, again, this story appears over 600 years after Jesus' time, so it could not have influenced the Jesus story.  If there was any influencing going on, it was Christianity influencing the Salivahana story.

I've also found a reference to a king named Salivahana who ruled in the first century in southern India, but a few decades after Jesus' time.

Some Christ-mythers make the claim that Salivahana is from Bermuda, but a follower of the Hindu religion assures me that he has absolutely nothing to do with Bermuda.  I've searched for any links between Salivahana and Bermuda, and am finding nothing but the various Christ-myth websites that make this claim.
