Frequently Asked Questions

If asking for forgiveness is all it takes to be saved, then couldn't someone go and sin as much as they want for all their lives, and then, just before they die, ask for forgiveness, and get into Heaven?
Technically, yes. But it would almost certainly not be that simple. If someone desires to sin all their lives, then they must think sin is a good thing. If someone thinks sin is a good thing, then they would feel that they have nothing to be forgiven for. Asking for forgiveness must come from the heart, not just from the lips. If you think your sins are bad things, ask for forgiveness. If you'd rather continue on in sin and bear its burden, that's your choice. But God certainly recognizes the hypocracy of someone asking for forgiveness of something they don't feel the need to be forgiven for.
