Jesus & Marsyas Parallels - A Christian Response

Marsyas was a satyr who challenged Apollo to a flute-playing contest.  Apollo won, and decided to punish Marsyas.  He chased Marsyas into a cave and cut off his skin, and Marsyas' blood turned into a river.  Not much in the way of parallels to Jesus.
